Personalities
Fire dragons are usually considered among the fiercest of dragons- though they aren’t without a sense of righteousness. They are especially skilled in battle skills and tactics, though patience and humility are not among their strongest points.
Body Structures and Evolution
Fire dragons thrive in heat. Their scales are specially formed so as to absorb energy from the volcanoes that they live in- that is, being completely submerged in lava will not hurt them. On the contrary, it energizes them.
Fire dragons themselves can make mistakes in lava if they go against their instincts. They have specially formed ears and eyes- their ears, unlike the scaly flags of other breeds of dragons- are merely slits in the sides of their heads, able to be closed at will. Their eyes are coated in a special liquid that both repels and absorbs extreme heat. When they are in lava, fire dragons actually absorb oxygen from the extreme heat, rendering the lava or fire harmless.
Homes
Fire dragons live inside active volcanoes- literally. Their dens are located either just above or even under the lava, hewn into the sides. Young fire dragons- as their bodies have not fully developed- are moved into special dens towards the tops of volcanoes. If the need arises, parent dragonesses can use their wings and bodies as shields to protect the young hatchlings.
Food
Fire dragons- like some species of dragon- do not always need specific foods. Inside their volcanoes they need only to dive into the lava to become rejuvenated. Outside their volcanoes they are able to eat any variety of animal, but it does not have the same effect.
